As the Jacksonville Jaguars gear up for the 2024 NFL season, the spotlight is understandably on rookie wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr., a first-round pick from LSU who’s expected to make an immediate impact on the team’s passing offense. However, another rookie pass-catcher, by the name of Joshua Cephus, might also emerge as a key player for the Jaguars.
Cephus, who joined the Jaguars following a stellar college career at the University of Texas-San Antonio, brings impressive credentials. Over five seasons, he caught 313 passes for 3,639 yards and 28 touchdowns, making him the program’s all-time leader in receptions and receiving yards. These statistics are a testament to his consistent performance and ability to deliver under pressure.
A Diamond in the Rough
If the Jaguars decide to carry seven wide receivers into the season, Cephus has the potential to move up the depth chart and make a significant impact. Analysts have noted his key skills, which could set him apart from others vying for a spot.
